RISING COMMODITY PRICES AND THE AFFECT ON FINISHED PRODUCTS

In 2007 there was a major shift to higher grain prices due to factors like world politics, weather trends, ethanol production, etc. This "Paradigm Shift" indicates that those lower price levels will not return anytime soon.

This Commodity Market Chart illustrates what is happening to feed prices.

The U.S. is showing evidence of deteriorating Corn and Soybean Crops, resulting in heightened concerns of future supply issues. Additionally, outside market forces continue to impact prices. These increases are reflected in the prices of finished products.

Hayward's Tallest Structure and Community Landmark Gets a New Facelift

In recent weeks Hayward's tallest structure, Northern Lakes Feed Mill, has received a bit of a facelift! Painting the entire tower red and adorning with the Northern Lakes logo and website address will draw eyes to the skies for visitors traveling into Hayward on Highway 63.

The structure was originally relocated to Hayward from Ashland in 1938; brought in by train and erected at its current location.

Home to the Northern Lakes Feed Mill, the tower is a proud symbol of the entire Northern Lakes Cooperative and its member-patron family.
